The Vision received in 1980

A vibrant church committed to the Lord Jesus Christ and the fulfilment of the Great Commission.

Step 1: Unfolding the vision (Three phases)

1. Build base (5-year plan).
2. Send out teams into South Africa from base (5-year plan).
3. Send out teams into rest of the world from base.

Step 2: Values to be built into Congregation

1. Members to have strong/healthy relationships.
2. Fellowship with other churches and their members.
3. To be non-denominational.
4. To be non-traditional.
5. Involvement in community upliftment.
6. Balanced emphasis on evangelism.
7. Priesthood of all believers – Responsibility of every believer.

Step 3: Style of Leadership

1. Shared leadership structure.
2. Theocracy not democracy or autocracy.
3. To be in submission to authority.
4. To lead by example.
5. Fulfil 5-fold ministry of Ephesians 4:11.

Step 4: Building

1. An Auditorium for large gatherings.
2. Offices and administration.
3. Training centre – local/correspondence.

Step 5: Function

1. Evangelise.
2. Equip new members.
3. Train teams for local and trans-local ministry.
4. Send out teams – Apostolic Church Planting
5. Base to support teams financially and prayerfully

Step 6: Name

To call itself “Christian Fellowship”. Of the initial 10 leaders who received and embraced the vision in 1980, two are still left namely: Apostle’s Basil Poole and Dr. Roger Petersen.
